An HOA rules-gone-crazy community with its neighborhood of quirky characters and their diverse Californian lifestyles makes this cozy mystery a laugh-out-loud read.
An entertaining top-shelf work of contemporary fiction that blends mystery, fantasy, and comedy. Tightly written with rich and complex subtext that makes reading it a sublime pleasure.
Hilarity, adventure, mistaken identities, and romance make "Much Ado about Miners" a hit for anyone who has a penchant for romance and Westerns reads.
The reader is immersed in the plans of Wendy and her husband, Garth, to set sail on their open-ended adventure. And we wonder how long an introvert, whose motto is always be prepared, can live in such tight quarters with an extrovert whose motto is let’s just wing it.These are not rich dot-com people on a yacht. Nor are they trust fund hippies, or newly retired people with a nest-egg, hence the title. "Tightwads on the Loose; a Seven Year Pacific Odyssey" vividly details the highs and lows of life at sea and at port.
Fresh writing, lovable quirky characters, a good dose of randiness, peculiar situations (I have no idea how Ann Charles comes up with this stuff, but it makes for an entertaining read), and clever surprises at every twist and turn. An "Ex to Grind" keeps the laughs coming or the suspense building.
Readers who enjoy fun and randy mysteries about being caught in the bumbling world of love will greatly enjoy Stephie Smith's "Rules of Lying." Jane Dough is a charmer. I was surprised with the ending and am looking forward to reading more about Jane’s adventures and her new lease on love. A laugh-out-loud story that will keep you entertained to the very end.
When Charmaine Digby is cut loose as “excess baggage” from her ex-husband. She finds herself living with her Gram, slinging cheeseburgers at her great-aunt Alice’s diner, and living across the street from a guy who used to pull her pigtails when they were in grade school together. She is out of work, out of money, and out of shape. This wonderfully humorous cozy mystery will have you cracking up at the trouble that “Char” manages to get into when she finally lands a “real job” as a deputy coroner to the Chimacam County Prosecutor’s office—if she can make it past Day One of her 30-day-trial period.
Home to Woefield will make you think again about reaching toward the seemingly unreachable in your own life, about taking that leap of faith, and believing maybe, just maybe, some chickens will show up to make it all happen.
